Bonsoir,

Ce petit post pour vous demander si vous avez réussi à mettre en place un framebuffer (fbsplash) sur de l'athlon 64 avec une carte pciexpress. J'ai en effet réussi à mettre un framebuffer sur un athlon 64 avec carte AGP mais impossible sur l'autre config de ma copine en pci express. Je sais pas si ça peut jouer, mais c'est vraiment la seule différence entre les 2 machines...J'ai mis les bonnes options dans le kernel, comme indiqué ds le howtro fbsplash, j'ai bien créé l'initrd, lilo le prend et au boot, le framebuffer n'indique aucune erreur, comme si tout se passait normalement: il prend l'image, etc: pas d'ereur ds le var/log/messages.

config: gentoo-sources 2.6.11-r7, asus A8N-SLI Deluxe, athlon 3200 socket 939 , geforce 6600GT PCIExpress, lilo.

quelqu'un a-t-il une idée? J'avoue que je craque moralement, j'y ai passé la soirée avec ma nana qui se foutait de ma poire derrière, et j'en peux plus...Pas grand chose sur le forum, donc j'en appelle aux âmes charitables...

avec les versions en ~amd64 de splash-utils ? (regénérer l'init-rd si ce n'était pas le cas)

bah je pense pas que ça vienne de l'amd 64...sur l'autre machine que j'ai en AGP, il tourne comme une fleur...c'est pour celà que je soupçonne le PCI express de me mettre le bordel...

mais bon, je vais essayer tout de meêm par acquis de conscience...

euh pour avoir vainement essayé de mettre mon fbsplash hier soir de 20h à 24h sans y parvenir ; pour finir par keyworder splash-utils et là pouf pouf ça marche, je peux te dire : « testes ça ».

ah ah, là tu me tentes starch...

@trevoke: ce qui se passe, c'est que la machine démarre mais sans le framebuffer, comme s'il n'était pas là, avec un fond d' écran tout noir et une résolution dégueulasse...
aucun message d'erreur dans le var/log/messages, pour lui le framebuffer démarre alorsq ue c'est pas le cas...

Je vais essayer la solution de starch pour voir, si ça le fait pour lui, ça devrait aussi marcher pour moi!

Note que je n'ai pas de pci-express... toutefois, j'avais les mêmes symptomes que toi.

bah en fait, sur les kernels amd64, t'as pas le choix: c'est vesafb ou vesafb...Le vesa-tng n'est pas implémenté...

il est pas super joli, mais il y a une barre de progression indiquant l'avancement et le %age du boot et des icones (noïa je crois) qui s'allument quand certains services démarent, c'est vraiment sympa :D
