When I try to boot the gentoo installation CD or knoppix livecd it boots fine, then scans the processor, bios, then autoconfig of devices and then it says AGP bridge detected, and hangs there. I can't get past that point. So either it hangs at that point or it doesn't boot at all...just a black screen depending on the CD. Is this a mobo/bios issue or is there something else that I can try to get these CDs loaded. I appriciate any help in advance.

Thanks,
Matt

At the boot prompt, if you hit F2 you'll get a list of options. You could try disabling various things. For example (and perhaps worth trying to start with) type
Code:
gentoo noapic
and see if that makes a difference.
