hi net citicens,
ive installed grub natively from my running system but moved the menu.lst before executing grub...but grub gives me always this:
Code: |
Running "install /boot/grub/stage1 (hd0) (hd0)1+18 p (hd0,1)/boot/grub/stage2 /boot/grub/menu.lst"... succeeded
|
why ? theres no menu.lst in /boot and after a reboot i didnt got a menu...
and why should i edit grub.conf now instead of menu.lst ? is this some naming convencion?
greets

In Linux distros where GRUB is told to use menu.lst as configuration file, it is simply a symlink pointing to grub.conf in that same directory (or vice versa, can't remember). Anyway, editing grub.conf is editing menu.lst, and vice versa. My Gentoo systems do not give me the menu.lst link, so I edit grub.conf directly. |
