Okay I have a redhat 7 with adsl connexion working...
I'm trying to install gentoo...so I have used another HD to have a test.
I own 2 ne2000 compatible isa Cards (one for the lan, one for the ethernet alcatel modem)
I have tried the light cd...
of course I do a modprobe ne io=0x320 irq=10 (irq reserved in Bios)
the card is probed cool....
then I configure adsl with adsl-setup (I already usr this script on my redhat)
then it connect...by after chrooting I can't env-update or emerge...
I don't know why 
So I have downloaded the 1.4 RC2 image disk...in order to start a stage 3 install...
after probing the card and configure the ADSL, I can't connect...I can see the lights of the modem moving but that's all...
any idea ? thanks |

there is a file u have to copy before you chroot otherwise your network connection won't work

thanks for replying, unfortunatly with the RC2 I can't connect at all (WAITING FOR PADO Packets)
With this release "livecd-basic-x86-2003011400.iso" I can connect !!
I don't understand why I can't connect with the RC2..(on the same computer of course !!!) |
