i cant get my serial port to work (i did a cat on /dev/ttyS0). Im tryin to get my serial mouse to work. It works in RH 7.2 and 8.0. any help would be great....
(sony vaio fxa-47) (via k100 chipset i think, touchpad, and 1 standard serial port)
the same kernel will use the serial on RH but not Gent00... |

try using /dev/tts/0
thats the devfs version

| Did you figure it out? I too am not getting any output from cat /dev/ttyS0 or cat /dev/tts/0. This applies both to my laptop and desktop machine which both run Gentoo. |
