hi there,
I just set up a gateway use gentoo, I am wondering what program I can record and view the log of the incoming or outgoing traffic.
and one more question. when I view the dmesg i realize soemthing like this

what is this mean and how can I fix it( the internet works fine). and the eth0 is the internal lan NIC |

actually, I think Ethereal is too advance and I have to use gui to view things.
is anything use terminal to view the log? |

Try tcpdump or tethereal (the latter is a part of the ethereal ebuild). |

Also if you're interested in statistics of your traffic, try iptraf - it has ncurses gui and shows some interesting information. |
