Does anyone have any idea on how to increase the number of video modes available in zsnes 1.36. I only have 15 modes available and none of them will make it go to full screen and run at full speed. I had zsnes working under Redhat 8 on the same machine(around 30 modes available), maybe their is a option I could enable in XF86Config??? Thanks!! |

Hi,
as i know ,you can only use vesamodes or Opengl resolutions.
640x480 Fullscreen , Stretched runs absolutely with 60 fps on a celereon 733 here.
MAybe you dont have opengl support.

djoi. I have opengl support. I just finished playing ut2k3 at 1600x1200 for two hours on my gf4 4600. The highest mode I can choose in zsnes is 1024x768 OGL |

Hmm and wheres the problem ?
I played it on my gamer pc at "1024x768 OGL" filtered .
FPS 60 of 60 , Fullscreen without borders there.
Without Autoframeskip it looks like 500 - 1000 FPS .
Only a AMD XP 1600+ and GF3 Ti200 here .
So not the fastest anymore.
If you can play UT , you should play Znes games
That what i did :
run: opengl-update nvidia
some parts of /etc/X11/XF86Config-4

djoi: I can play low resolutions like 1024 easily, but it wont allow me to go above that, so everything looks like pure shit. X is running at 1600x1200 and so does every opengl game I own. Looking in the zsnes config file it seems it doesnt support higher then 1024 |

What u mean with "it looks like pure shit" .
Do you use a LCD-Monitor ?
Normal resolution of SNES is something like 256x256.
So 1024x768 on Monitor looks far better as original TV Picture here.

I play on my 22 NEC CRT, 1600 looks loads better then 1024, which is very blocky/nasty. Although stretching 256 to 1600 looks bad too, everything on this monitor is horrible looking under 1280x960, gives me headaches |
