Hi, I've been using the cko patchset for some time now on my Dell Inspiron 500m laptop with great success. I just updated from 2.6.10-cko3 to 2.6.11-cko5-ck7 and now it insists on detecting my touchpad as an ALPS/synaptic touchpad and disables hardware tapping. I'm really used to tapping and this annoys me. Unfortunately the selection for synaptic driver no longer exists in menuconfig (I never enabled it before), and it seems to be the default now. The dmesg says:
ALPS Touchpad (Glidepoint) detected
Disabling hardware tapping
input: AlpsPS/2 ALPS TouchPad on isa0060/serio1
What is telling the driver to disable tapping, and where to I enable it? Also, how do I disable the synaptic driver altogether? The previous setup using imps/2 worked great by default, and this "advanced" driver doesn't.

"psmouse.proto=imps". But I would recommend trying Synaptics X driver + 2.6.12-rc - it has a lot of ALPS issues fixed.
