|
|
Hi everyone!
I have a strange problem. I run fluxbox ontop of kde (or at the side, whatever ) and I cannot start kde apps from my menu in fluxbox. I think it has something to do with the PATH variable. But the thing is that the PATH has two different values if I look at it in aterm or in Eterm.
(Eterm PATH has the kde-bin path)
Is this normal?
Shouldn't the PATH be read from the /etc/profile.env file on startup?
(and thereby be system-wide?)
I'm a linux newbie as you probably understand, but I really want to learn how linux ticks...
Thanks for your time.

I haven't figured ot so far why fluxbox doesn't look into the kde bins, so I just added the complete path to the kde apps into the fluxbox menu (it's /usr/kde/3/bin/app-name )
--of course there should be a easier way to let fluxbox know where the kde apps reside.... _________________ Do you want your posessions identified? [ynq] (n) |

Ok, I'll do that too.
Until this path thingy is figured out.
Thank you, jay.
