How long would it take to install Gentoo on the Box with the following specs:
(1) 512MB DDR ram
(1) PIV 2.2Ghz
(1) 20KiloBitespersec. Internet Connection
(1) 128MB video Card
I need to know this before I start so I can make time for it for when to do it.
As you can see I'm new and I hope that my ignorant questions won't be a bother to any of you. _________________ Would Jesus have made U if He did not love U?

Depending on what stage you want to use.
Do not choose a VGA with only 64MB - buy yourself a 128MB one thay are not so expensive. |

I'm going to do a stage 1-3 install. I think I'll buy a 128MB card, their only like $40.

Stage 3 install is a matter of a couple of minutes. With config editing this should be less than 30-40 mins, I suppose...
Stage1 on my machine which is similar to yours took about 6 maybe 7 hrs (or maybe less), don't remember exactly. But it was way too fast to be true:P One is known for sure - you will be able to use your Gentoo OS the same day you start installing it. |

i think you meant stage 1/3
that should take about the time of a stage 1 plus an extra hour or two depending on how experienced you are |
