I emerged it and it went fine and then I needed to configure it by doing vmware-config.pl. it asked me for the C header files for my kernel and it's default location to look was correct and I can't get it to accept it. what's wrong here? I'm using the gentoo-sources kernel from when I installed gentoo. it's a 2.4.19 kernel. any help anyone can give me on this?? |

This usually happens if the Linux source/header files aren't the same as the ones used with the running kernnel. You could recompile the kernel and reboot off the new kernel. Then vmware-config.pl should compile its modules correctly.
Or you could check your /usr/src directory and see if you have different versions of the kernel under there if so then try the different paths in vmware-config.pl to see if one of them work. |
