my frind is on xp sp2 and im on gentoo, were both connected to a hella old router which is getting the net from dsl, the problem were having is that windows is the weak sauce, I got a dchp ip set up perfectly and can use the net fine, but my friend can only use the net untill I try to use the net. At that point my comp steals controll of the net he gets kicked off and cant steal it from me so I have flawless net, but he doesnt, any ideas? |

Is the old router truly a router or just a switch? Is it providing dhcp service to your lan? |
