I have an issue whereby using krdc to connect to windows server terminal sessions sets the locale to en_US.

This causes a number of date and other issues.

Krdc (and presumably rdesktop) does not grab my system locale (en_AU), but instead makes you choose one from the limited list.
I was wondering if it is possible to get krdc to use an alternate locale that is not on the list, short of hacking the source?

This may be related to the fact that there is not en_AU locale for kde-i18n.

Perhaps there is a way to pass the locale through rdesktop?

Any ideas?

Cheers

further to this, the options I thought were locale are perhaps just keyboard options (from the ~/.kde3.4/share/config/krdcrc file).

Now, the issue... en_AU uses en_GB language, but en_US keyboard!
We use $ like US, but DD/MM/YYYY date format..

There is no such thing as en_AU keyboard for me to pass to krdc, which in turn means I can't set the windows session system locale to en_AU.

*sigh*

Perhaps if there was a kde i18n locale it might be different.. I'll have to look into it more!

fixed with registry hacks on the terminal server, however still an interesting issue and not a "real" solution.

mind you that's what you get dealing with microsoft products.
