I'm using GCC4 to compile xine-lib, but the process has been broken:
Code:
In file included from ../dsputil.h:31,
                 from cputest.c:5:
../common.h:73: error: array type has incomplete element type
../common.h:75: error: array type has incomplete element type
make[5]: *** [cputest.lo] Error 1

It happened to xine-lib-1.0.1-r1, xine-lib-1.0.1-r2, xine-lib-1.0.1-r3.
Please help me [/quote]to solve it?

it's a know bug with gcc4: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=109655&aid=1175002&group_id=9655
you have gcc4?

in case you have, open a bugreport on bugzilla (if there isn't any about it) and specify to use in the ebuild the gcc4 patch suggested in the link

yes, I do use gcc4, which is much faster than gcc3 (finish compiling glibc in 1h40m, firefox 1.0.4 in 1h, gcc in 40-50m, xorg in less than 1h). I re-emerge "word" with gcc4 (including X, xfce4, firefox, emacs, gimp, gaim). It works for me so far except that xine-lib and xpdf cannot be compiled. BTW I didn't use gcc4 to compile kernel since there are many people who have the problem with compiling kernel by gcc4.

OK, now i know it is a known bug of gcc4. So I just wait for them to fix gcc's bug or make some patches for xin-lib and xpdf.

Thanks for your help.
