Hello all
i've got a problem with kde 3.1: when i started kde the last time, i've had a power failure, just when kde was coming up. since then, my desktop is empty, there i just a terminal window and no more! no taskbar, no icons, just nothing.
btw: i was logged in as root
is there anything i can do except emerging the whole thing again? |

I'd try removing kde configuration files in your home. Kde should recreate them.
No warranty, but better than remergin everything... |

What you mean "empty"? Can you provide a screenshot? |

can't provide screenshots, im sorry. but what i mean is: localhost home # ls return nothing.
there's a strange thing: if i type startkde in the terminal, then kde comes up as normal. so it seems that after the login in kde, the startkde commando isn't executed automatically |

Check hidden files, ls doesn't show them.
