Hey, I've emerged fluxbox witht he remember patch and I've been using it for a while with few problems.

There's one thing that's been bothering me though. I've seen screenshots of terminals without anything on them (titlebar, etc) at all, and I think they look really cool. So I set about setting up aterm to do this.

My problem is, whenever I tell fluxbox to remember the tab state and decoration state of a window, it won't. The position, dimensions, etc all remember fine, but for some reason my aterms always come up with tabs and titlebars. I've tried editing the apps file, but it always reverts back to Normal decor and "yes" for tabs whenever I open a new aterm.

Does anyone have any ideas why this could be happening? Thanks.

Try to conf the ./fluxbox/menu file...
So that it passes the parameters when you run the prog from the menu.

Where is this remember patch I keep hearing about? I looked on the user submitted patches but didn't see it.

While I'm here, better not start a new topic:

[EDIT: excuse my ignorance with that question, found it out [/EDIT]

Another Q: How would I tell a terminal like Eterm to do a command once launched? I want to have a desktop icon open up Eterm and execute '/sbin/shutdown -h now' Thanks.
And, is there a way to get it to su to root (required by shutdown)? So I just click the icon, it opens Eterm, asks for password, and then shutsdown.

That'll be it for me, hehe thanks. :)

"Try to conf the ./fluxbox/menu file... "

Conf it? What's that mean? I'm reletively new to linux, and I've never heard that expression before.

Qweasda: I believe the command option for eterm is -e. So "eterm -e /sbin/shutdown -h now" would do it... I'm not sure about the su'ing thing though.

I've searched all over the forums for this ... can someone tell me how to start an aterm window without the window decorations? The '-bw 0' option does not work. I get the impression that aterm itself doesn't support this, so I have to use my window manager (kahakai). Any help would be appreciated, thanks!
