Compaq WLAN Multiport W200, howto get it work?

Hi!
I'm going to install gentoo at a frined of my's laptop.
But he's got a wireless networkcard, Compaq WLAN Multiport W200
and i wonder how to make it work..

i've checked this thread https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic.php?t=29644 but it seems to be old...
i've also checked gentoo-wiki. http://gentoo-wiki.com/HOWTO_Wireless_Configuration_and_Startup
but i wonder if someone have got it working and how?
and about the wiki, is that generic, works for every card?

What problems are you having? Is the card detected by the OS? Do you have the green light on the wireless module? Or are you having driver issues? Can't detect wireless networks?
