|
|
Hi,
which packages do I have to install for the basic 'at' (add a command to the cron-queue for single execution later on) and 'mail' (just send a mail via local mailserver) commands?
Thanks for any hints,

Thanks for your hints, but I couldn't find 'at' using etcat, as I don't know where it should reside.
I tried
etcat -b /bin/at
etcat -b /sbin/at
etcat -b /local/bin/at
etcat -b /local/sbin/at
etcat -b bin/at
but had no luck.
What further astonishes me is that I do have man-pages for 'at' on my machine, but not the 'at' command. I expected 'at' to belong to cron (I use vixie-cron), so I searched there, but with no luck.
Any more hints?

Thanks.
You didn't find it using the above queries btw, because it's /usr/bin/at .
(Shouldn't bin/at have covered that, though?) |

If what you want regarding the local mail is for things like cron and syslog to send mail directly to users inboxes without going though yahoo (or equivalent), then its probably easiest to use qmail. Follow the first half of the gentoo guide and stop when you can send mail directly to other users on your system. |
