KPPP: correct settings for external serial modem?

Maybe too generic, but I wonder what is the best setting for an honest external 56k modem? Flow control, End of line - what should I use and what problems could arise from incorrect settings?

If I understand your question... you could go to your modem mfr's web site & get INIT strings and other data from them. With my two ISDN routers I only use the following INIT: AT &F ...and they work great. For my 56k external I went to the mfr's web site & got all the data.

IMHO there is no hard & fast rule.
