Notebook problem

Hello !

I've got a problem while shutting down. Everytime, it sounds and looks like my notebook is crushing. The harddrive does some loud noise, the display flashes up... I used the knoppix livecd for install, and there I had no problems. Is there a command for a "soft" system halt ?
I've got an Acer TM 8101WMLi, perhaps, someone has the same problem.

You can try another kernel. If you are using the 2.6.11, try 2.6.10 or check what version knoppix is using and try the same.
