Hi,
I've got a problem with my ASUS WiFi-b card on my ASUS P4P800-E Deluxe Wireless Edition.
I've installed the latest driver for the RT2400 chipset and the card is recognized by the system. I can configure the card via ifconfig and iwconfig, too. Everything works fine, but the card seems to be off or in a sleep state. Both LEDs are off.
When booting SuSE 9.2 it's exactly the same until hwbootscan is started. It seems that hwbootscan enables the card.
Has anybody got an idea how I can "awake" my card? |

Maybe you need to load your drivermodule via modprobe [your module]. |

The module is loaded automatically via /etc/modules.autoload.de/kernel-2.6. Otherwise I wouldn't be able to configure it by using ifconfig or iwconfig without getting an error.
Today I assigned an ESSID to the card and the LEDs began to flash. I don't know why, but now it's working. Anyhow, sometimes I can't configure the card via iwconfig or the card stops working with all LEDs off.
I think I'll go to the shop and get me card, that supports WiFi-G and works under Linux. |
