Hi,
seit einer neu installation von Gentoo geht mein Sound nicht mehr. Ich verwende Alsa und den via82xx treiber und habe damit auch keine Probleme wenn ich xmms als root starte. Aber wenn ich xmms als normaler user aus einem xterm Starte kommt das, wenn ich auf Play drücke:

Wie kann ich das ändern?
Ich habe bei der Installation von alsa vergessen "oss" in die USE-flags zu setzten, also hab ich alsa nochmal neuinstalliert mit USE="oss". Meine /etc/modules.d/alsa sieht so aus:

alias snd-card 0 snd-via82xx
alias sound-slot-0 snd-card-0
alias /dev/mixer snd-mixer-oss
alias /dev/dsp snd-pcm-oss
alias /dev/midi snd-seq-oss

Trotzdem wird /dev/mixer /dev/dsp etc. nicht angelegt. Oder hat das was mit udev (version 045) zutun?

Hi, habe selbigen Soundchip On-Board. Was ich nicht ganz verstehe wieso du ALSA und ALSA OSS nicht über den Kernel aktivierst und nur die alsa-utils (und abhängigkeiten) emerged?
Wenn du einen 2.6er Kernel verwendest, wovon ich ausgehe, kannst du es ja mit den ALSA Modulen aus dem Kernel aktivieren und deine Config mit...
anpassen. Good Luck
