i2c-viapro.c is not in my kernel (2.4.19-r10) - why? It looks like it was in a 2.4.19 pre release, so it should be part of the standard kernel, but did the gentoo kernel rip it out? I just did a livecd install and followed the instructions for emerge sys-kernel/gentoo-sources |

Quote: | i2c-viapro.c is not in my kernel (2.4.19-r10) - why? | Because i2c-viapro.c is part of lm_sensors, not the kernel. Perhaps you installed a 2.4.19 pre kernel and emerged lm_sensors only to lose the modules when you upgraded kernels? Modules like those in lm_sensors need to be compiled for a specific kernel source set, so you'll have to remerge lm_sensors to get i2c-viapro.o back. _________________ Man must shape his tools lest they shape him. |
