a2ps prints blank pages

I'm trying to use a2ps to pretty-print some C++ source code, but a2ps keeps printing only blank pages. On some printers, it doesn't print at all. All my other printing utilities are working fine, so I know my problem is with a2ps. Can anyone give me guidance on troubleshooting this problem?

Pipe the output of a2ps to a file and take a look at it with gv and a texteditor to find out more.
