What are you trying to achieve by this? Have you looked at freeNX to establish remote X session via SSH? |

I'm currently reorganizing the computer and network structure at a school. during e.g. presentations all the screens should be locked. so my control application establishses an ssh connection and runs xlock. but then all the students are trying to "hack" the password, so it would be great if i could disable the keyboard and mouse additionally. |

Ah, I see.
I guess you could try and figure out a way redirect all keyboard and mouse input to /dev/null.
That would certainly stop work. I just don't know how to do it.
A slightly more creative and "low-tech" solution would be to have your maintenance department run a few extra electrial circuts to plug all the monitors in to and then give you a series of light switches at the front of the room where you could power off all the monitors at will.
Good luck. |
