|
|
I may have a hardware issue, but I'm get this strange problem. I just bought the PVR-350 huappuage tv tuner card. I just loaded it into one of my available pci slots and started up my system. However, after the grub splash screen, my screen goes blank. I can still hear the normal hard drive noise associated with booting. I then took my tv tuner card out and the problem is gone. I put it back, problem back. Its like the tv card interferes with the vesafb. I have my kernel compiled with vesafb and fb fonts 8x8 and 16x16.
I haven't even tried to emerge mythtv or freevo yet, and I'm getting this problem. I'm wondering if my card is bad. Does anyone have an idea what may be happening?
Here's my system info:

This information was difficult to obtain because my display never works with the hauppauge card in the pci slot. However, it did it without a screen.
I also hope I did it right.
I first did: lspci -v. Heres the output (I will also post dmesg) :
