I used to be able to go to https://webmail.shaw.ca in firefox 1.0.3. Since upgrading to firefox 1.0.4, I have not been able to get to this site. The error I am getting is:
Code:
Firefox and webmail.shaw.ca cannot communicate securely because they have no common encryption algorithms.

This site used to load fine in 1.0.3, but gave a warning indicating it was using a low grade encryption. I assume that this means the site is using 40-bit instead of 128-bit encryption. I have tested the site in konqueror and get the error:
Code:
An error occurred while loading https://webmail.shaw.ca:

Could not connect to host webmail.shaw.ca.

I have also tried opening the site in both links and lynx. Both browsers load up the login page, but due to the way the site is implemented, I am unable to actually log in.

I have checked the security settings in firefox and have gone through every combination of having SSL2, SSL3, TLS1 on and off. If both SSL2 and SSL3 are off, I get the error:
Code:
You cannot connect to webmail.shaw.ca because SSL is disabled.

Does anyone know why this is happening and how to fix it?

Not sure how much this will help, but when I connect to that page and view "page info", I see that it's using RC4-40 (40 bit encryption).

Sorry about replying to my own reply, but it looks like RC4-40 might be contained in SSL-2. Have you checked that you've got SSL-2 enabled in your browser?

I have tried turning SSL-2 on in the preferences. Unfortunately, this didn't help.

Check out this german thread. I think that's exactly your problem. The links inside are to an English forum, so you should be able to understand it. :D
