Does anyone knows what can be causing those errors? I loose internet because of this and i have to do a "/etc/init.d/net.eth0 restart" each time. It seems to happen more often when someone tries to upload stuff on my ftp. here's the ifconfig output:
Code: |
eth0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:E0:29:1D:9A:5D
inet addr:192.168.0.136 Bcast:192.168.0.255 Mask:255.255.255.0
UP BROADCAST NOTRAILERS RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1
RX packets:731153 errors:9165 dropped:188 overruns:245 frame:2
TX packets:494570 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0
collisions:0 txqueuelen:100
RX bytes:771759146 (736.0 Mb) TX bytes:35190016 (33.5 Mb)
Interrupt:7 Base address:0xd000
|
Dont know if that's related, but sometimes i got kernel messages that says "eth0 : too much work at interupt".
My ethernet card is an smc 1211tx (8139too module).
Thanks |

Just a guess but try moving the network card to different pci slots and see what happens. If that doesn't fix it you could try another NIC if you have one. |

Ive switch my card into another pci slot but it doesnt help. Could this be that my card is too old (3-4 years old)?
The thing that annoys me is that it never does that on windows. So what could be the problem? |

Have you tried the other 8139 driver? _________________ Everyone has something clever for a signature but me. |
