I run firefox and today i heard that konqueror passed to acid2 test and decided to try it out. I have used it before as filemanager because I'm a kde user but I have always found flaws in the webbrowser. I have used it for most of the day and it works fine most of the time. It have many useful functions firefox lacks but it's also missing some important functionality i have gotten used to and can't live without. To give it an honest chance before i dismiss it I'll post my issues here and see if someone have a solution or workaround.

* adblock?
* the possibility to open all links in a folder in new tabs (useful for news sites)
* find as you type. Ctrl+f is not good enough.
* it want to download direct links to JPEG files and asks me what program I want to open them with. I want to view the images in konqueror of course.
* Dubble klicking on a link only selects part of the link. Many webpages have links as text and I use to dubble klick on them and then center klick to go to the address.
* I can't get mplayerplug-in to work. I must have done something wrong. All I want to know is if it's possible to make it work.
* The icons in the bookmark toolbar is to large. I can change the size of all the toolbar buttons but I haven't found a way to make the bookmark icons smaller.

- acid2 test - it will be available maybe in version 3.4.2.
- adblock is also available in SVN version, but before it will be officially out, try KDE Konqueror - AdBlock Howto
- find as you type - just press / and start typing
- bookmark toolbar - in my case, its same as others toolbars (you can choose how large, only icon, only text, text under icon and so)
- mplayerplug-in - dont use myself, I have emerged kmplayer and works fine (other suggestion are welcome)

url as text - there is extension for firefox, but dont how to do it in konq
dont understand that about jpeg

Right-click on a folder and select 'Open Folder in Tabs'.

It doesn't work; it selects the entire line.

I use Konqueror as my main browser and it's great: featurefull, very standards compliant and blazingly fast, and it only gets better with new releases. Apple, who is using KHTML for Safari, recently opened a CVS server for KHTML development and KDE devels are also working hard in improving it. However, as of KDE 3.4.1 (latest version) there are still some annoyances with a few sites not working properly (esp. those with heavy use of AJAX, such as GMail or Google maps), so I still keep Firefox for fallback.

Can't wait for KDE 3.5.

Also, one of the awesome things in Konqueror is the mouse gestures. Have a look in the KDE control center, then Regional & Accessibility > KHotKeys to enable them. You'll probably have to enable them globally and Konqueror's group specifically. I'm aware that Firefox has a similar mouse gestures plugin, but I find the mouse gestures for Konqueror to work quite a bit better.
