Code:
checking for gtkmm-2.0 >= 2.0.0 libgnome-2.0 >= 1.108.0... Package ORBit-2.0 was not found in the pkg-config search path.
Perhaps you should add the directory containing `ORBit-2.0.pc'
to the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable
Package 'ORBit-2.0', required by 'libgnome', not found

configure: error: Library requirements (gtkmm-2.0 >= 2.0.0 libgnome-2.0 >= 1.108.0) not met; consider adjusting the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable if your libraries are in a nonstandard prefix so pkg-config can find them.

!!! Please attach the config.log to your bug report:
!!! /var/tmp/portage/libgnomemm-2.0.1/work/libgnomemm-2.0.1/config.log

!!! ERROR: dev-cpp/libgnomemm-2.0.1 failed.
!!! Function econf, Line 485, Exitcode 0
!!! econf failed
!!! If you need support, post the topmost build error, NOT this status message.

I dont really know what else to post to help, ask and you will recieve

Looks like you need to install orbit (which is part of gnome-base) first before you can build k3b!!!

I though I had orbit
Code:
emerge -vp orbit

These are the packages that I would merge, in order:

Calculating dependencies ...done!
[ebuild   R   ] gnome-base/orbit-2.12.2  -debug -doc +ssl 0 kB

Total size of downloads: 0 kB

the gnome dependancies come from
Code:
[ebuild  N    ] app-cdr/cdrdao-1.1.9  -debug +gnome 1,544 kB

and gtkmm and libgnome I thought where uptodate
Code:
emerge -pv libgnome gtkmm

These are the packages that I would merge, in order:

Calculating dependencies ...done!
[ebuild   R   ] gnome-base/libgnome-2.8.1  -debug -doc 0 kB
[ebuild   R   ] dev-cpp/gtkmm-2.4.11  -debug 0 kB

Total size of downloads: 0 kB
