|
|
Hi -
I'd like to be able to connect to my work network which runs a Win2k Server and everyone connects to terminal servers. I need to VPN into the network - and then access the terminal server.
So I have two questions -
1.) What software can I use to connect to a L2TP/Ipsec Windows VPN.
2.) What software do I use to connect to the terminal server.
My searches all found stuff for hosting a L2TP/Ipsec server and not connecting to one.
Thanks heaps. |

To connect to the windows vpn you can use this to connect to it:
* net-dialup/pptpclient
Latest version available: 1.6.0
Latest version installed: [ Not Installed ]
Size of downloaded files: 228 kB
Homepage: http://pptpclient.sourceforge.net/
Description: Linux client for PPTP
License: GPL-2
*Just as an fyi I believe you need to install the MPPE/MPPC kernel mod for the software above.
Take a peak at this howto and hopefully it will help in aiding you connect up. https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-298267-highlight-vpn+client+howto.html
To connect to the windows terminal server you can use the following software:
* net-misc/rdesktop
Latest version available: 1.4.1
Latest version installed: [ Not Installed ]
Size of downloaded files: 210 kB
Homepage: http://rdesktop.sourceforge.net/
Description: A Remote Desktop Protocol Client
License: GPL-2
If you uses KDE there is a built in wrapper for this package if not you can use the gtk wrapper program net-misc/grdesktop. |

Cheers heaps for the reply -
The windows VPN is not PPTP - And I don't need to dial into it, I am connected on DSL.
Any suggestions? |
