|
|
I was emerging a few programs last night, all from portage/net-analyzer ....
Now I dont know what has happened or what could go wrong, but my Kmail doesn`t start...
and if I type "kmail" in my terminal, I get this output:
Code: | peter@Gentoo ~ $ kmail
Inconsistency detected by ld.so: dl-runtime.c: 76: fixup: Assertion `((reloc->r_info) & 0xff) == 7' failed!
|
thats it, here the launc process stops!
Any ideas what colud go wrong? What is causing this problem?
Thanks! _________________ http://forums.gentoo.rulz

What does:
(little L) say.
That is your emerge history. What are the programs that were emerged with

Right now all I could say is try to remerge kmail/kdepim without more info.
Maybe someone else will have seen this and can solve it without more information. _________________ Support bacteria – they’re the only culture some people have.”

Kmail does that sometimes, have to reboot I mean. It is rare, but happens. Don't run it from
terminal usually so never seen that. Glad you got it working on your own.
Yes, just emerge 'genlop' it will show you emerge history, you can also see how long it took to emerge something,.....
Pretty cool little app.
Code: | Usage: genlop [options] [-f logfile] [category/package]
Options:
-c display the currently compiling packages (if any)
-e display package history; default if any option is used.
-f read emerge log information from "logfile" instead of /var/log/emerge.log
-h print this help
-i extra infos for the selected package (build specific USE and CFLAGS
variables, average build time, etc)
-g display GMT/UTC, not localized time.
-l show full merge history.
-n uncolored output
-p estimate build time from a piped "emerge -p" output
-r search for portage tree sync/rsync history.
-s use (case insensitive) regular expressions to match package names
-S use case sensitive regular expressions to match package names
-t calculate merge time for the specific package(s).
-u show when packages have been unmerged.
-v display genlop version and exit. |
Also, if you don't have it, emerge 'gentoolkit' , it has stuff like 'equery' which can be useful also to see what package a file came from, use flags used,.....
Code: | Usage: equery <global-opts> command <local-opts>
where <global-opts> is one of
-q, --quiet - minimal output
-C, --nocolor - turn off colours
-h, --help - this help screen
-V, --version - display version info
where command(short) is one of
belongs(b) <local-opts> files... - list all packages owning files...
changes(c) - not implemented yet
check(k) pkgspec - check MD5sums and timestamps of pkgspec's files
depends(d) <local-opts> pkgspec - list all direct dependencies matching pkgspec
depgraph(g) <local-opts> pkgspec - display a dependency tree for pkgspec
files(f) <local-opts> pkgspec - list files owned by pkgspec
glsa(a) - not implemented yet
hasuse(h) <local-opts> pkgspec - list all packages with useflag
list(l) <local-opts> pkgspec - list all packages matching pkgspec
size(s) <local-opts> pkgspec - print size of files contained in package pkgspec
stats(t) - not implemented yet
uses(u) <local-opts> pkgspec - display USE flags for pkgspec
which(w) pkgspec - print full path to ebuild for package pkgspec |
Some of these tools can come in pretty handy if have a problem. _________________ Support bacteria – they’re the only culture some people have.”
