Installed 2005.0 on a machine with a pIII on it
The hdd is setup as a web server
Moved the hdd to an amd box & no issues
Note : my make.conf is the default. I have NOT touched
the c/cpp flags in any way
i'm using i686-portage/base
Moved the hdd to the machine it was supposed to be in with the
epia m-600 board & it boots & dies with an illegal instruction.
Also whats interesting is i can boot from the 2005.0 cd & it shows
i686 when i do a uname -a or cat /proc/cpuinfo
So the question how do i get it working on the new system without
having to reinstall/re-emerge everything.
If anyone has a workaround then please let know.
thanks,
pete |

The C3 on this board is i586 only so i fear the only clean&save way to get it runnning would be to recompile everything. _________________ Nothing is secure / Security is always a trade-off with usability / Do not assume anything / Trust no-one, nothing / Paranoia is your friend / Think for yourself |

despite booting from the 2005 minimal cd & setting my mcpu to i586
& doing a bootstrap from stage1 (which died btw)
i cant find any sane way to get gentoo working on this board
whats really annoying is i can get bsd to work fine, gentoo just wont work
so if anyone can help me...i really could use some sound advice here |
