Hi,
I've got some Problems with my DHCPd server. I use this server for connecting to my WLAN network. It worked fine, but in the last time, I get strange IP adresses. If you connect to the WLAN network, everything works fine, you get one IP Adress out of the range of 192,168.1.60-120 (Windows XP Clients), but suddenly the Client changes its IP Adress in something like 169.x.x.x. When I reconnect to the network, I get the right IP Adress again. Same with the wired network.
Any ideas? _________________ Alte Mathematiker sterben nicht - sie verlieren nur einige ihrer Funktionen. |

The IP address 169.x.x.x is not from dhcpcd, it is from Windows XP. That usually happens when you fail to get an IP address from the dhcp server. |

hmmm........ and why windows try to get the IP Adress of the dhcp server? When I connect to the network, the PC already has a valid ip adress. why the refresh after some time? _________________ Alte Mathematiker sterben nicht - sie verlieren nur einige ihrer Funktionen. |

It sounds like you're losing connection with the wireless network. |

man dhcpd should give you answers about refresh configuration. |
