|
|
Hello!
I've been looking all over the 'net and sweeping hence and forth through xorg.conf in order to configure my mac mini for tv-out display through the DVI to video adapter sold on Apple Store; it works like a charm on OS X, but when trying it out on gentoo with X.org there seems to be something more to it...
So, I'm wondering:
a) Is there anybody who actually got the adapter working with linux? In that case, what is the configuration?
b) Does OS X do anything else but changing the modeline parameters, that isn't possible from X.org?
c) Is there any way to get the exact modelines used by OS X?
Up until now, this is what's been working best for me:
Code: |
Section "Monitor"
Identifier "TV"
HorizSync 14-37.9
VertRefresh 25-51
Modeline "PAL" 14.16 736 760 824 904 288 290 292 312 -hsync -vsync
EndSection
|
But the image still scrolls around due to wrong horizontal refresh, front porch or whatever... I've cut'n'paste:d oozens of PAL TV-out modelines from the 'net, but none of them seems to work very well. |

Not used this bit of hardware, but the VGA to TV converters I have used in the past take 640x480, 800x600 or 1024x768 modelines and rescale to TV on the hardware, rather than taking TV modelines.
If you look at the screen settings while in MacOS can you see anything different from normal? |
