Is there a free software like VMWare which I could use to run a virtual machine with a guest system already installed on my HDD (i.e. with raw acces)? _________________ p3k4

Yes, 'qemu'. Emerge ~x86 with USE=kqemu for kernel acceleration. It's a lot faster than vmware on my lappy running linux guest systems. |

Thanks!
I suppose I can run the-other-operating-system-from-redmond already installed on my HDD using qemu without having to install it on qemu virtual machine? In other words: is there a way to tell qemu to use existing os installation and reat it like a guest os? _________________ p3k4

I guess it is, check the documentation for qemu (homepage & man pages), it's quite informative. |
