I'm trying to install Gentoo on an older system... It's NIC uses the tulip chipset, I've installed Gentoo on another machine with an identical NIC problem free.

When booting from the CD, I get this error message:

Code:

*Autodetecting network modules...
*Scanning for <different NICs>... /sbin/runscript.shh: line 29 288 Segment fault insmod -f ${x} >/dev/null 2>&1

Then if I try to modprobe tulip, it fails... But I'm too lazy to memorize a half page of error messages and write it down over here lol

Any clue as to what the problem is??

Thanks
