hey all,
So I haven't run soulseek in quite some time, and I went to run it today and was greeted with:
You're using an old version of wxPython libraries (2.4.0)
You should install wxPython 2.3.3 or newer
Now, I have wxPython 2.4.0.2 installed. So I unmerged soulseek, then wxPython, then remerged soulseek (and therefore wxpython) and it still gives the same error. What gives??

oh man, this is pretty sweet. Soulseek got shut down (temporarily, I hope) Friday. What luck I have. Details as follows:

man, what luck. Hopefully soulseek will be back up again in full capacity. Does anybody know of any other soul seek servers around?

Soulseek is back up! Unfortunately, I can't connect using pysoulseek, but my roomates running Windows are having no problem getting on. Are other Linux users having problems connecting? |

Finally I installed PySoulSeek. The server is up and I'm downloading right now max_colby.
To install PySoulSeek I needed to:
- Take out gtk2 from make.conf
- Unmerge gtk+, wxGTK, wxPython, Pysoulseek, due my previous tries.
- And finally, into the X (I use fluxbox)
emerge -u /usr/portage/net-p2p/pysoulseek/pysoulseek-0.4.10d.ebuild
if run out of X it fail!
Have fun! |

pysoulseek compiles and runs, but the options to Connect and Disconnect from the server are greyed out. If I check "debug messages" I actually get messages, but I can't properly connect to the server |

I had the same problem. I tried change versions, different usernames and recompile dependences alone.
I don't know until now what happened, but after I did as described before everything runs OK. |
