I have installed windows first and got lilo working,

It seems to me that there's indeed a problem with your lilo.conf, wrong root-parameter to kernel?
Boot the gentoo-cd again, and mount eveyting as described in http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/handbook/2005.0/handbook-x86.xml?part=1&chap=4#doc_chap5 (only do the mounting part, do not recreate your filesystems or anything like that). That way you can check your lilo.conf again (don't forget to passwd again when you have chrooted). You can e.g. cp you lilo.conf to your windows partition, for easy copy-pasting. _________________ In a world without fences and walls, who needs Gates and Windows? |

Weel, as i've said, mount everyting as described in http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/handbook/2005.0/handbook-x86.xml?part=1&chap=4#doc_chap5. So in your case just "mount /dev/hda4 /mnt/gentoo"
then you can, e.g. mount your windows: "mkdir /mnt/win" and "mount /dev/hda1 /mnt/win" (that is if your windows is on hda1). And you cp your lilo.conf to your win-partition somewhere. _________________ In a world without fences and walls, who needs Gates and Windows? |
