I have a problem with my fonts being extremely soft & fuzzy now.

Is there anything i'm missing in XF86Conf that could cause this?

I've knoticed that Xft doesn't load anymore, i guess it has been replaced with something else????

Any hints would be greatly appreciated.

Xf2. Your problem probably stems from antialiasing being applied by default, regardless of font size. The answer would then be to apply some restrictions in ~/.fonts.conf. See this thread for some answers.
