Group,

some recent update(s) have screwed up my ability to login using the kde logon screen.
when I enter my username, the display briefly turns black and then comes back with the original login screen.

what log file should I be looking for that might have clues?

thx.
H

Try looking in your log files in /var/log for any signs of failed logins, or other errors.
Code:
cat /var/log/messages || cat /var/log/everything/current
