Ho una piccola LAN con IP statici e i nomi host definiti in /etc/hosts:
Code:
127.0.0.1       localhost
192.168.52.1    eva.cky.net             eva
192.168.52.2    michele.cky.net         michele
192.168.52.3    usamm.cky.net           usamm
192.168.52.5    vmware.cky.net          vmware

in seguito ad esecuzione di cruft (pulizia di files non utilizzati) non funziona più la risoluzione di tali host. Ciò è _critico_ perché gli host non riescono neanche più a pingare sé stessi; questo comporta lag paurosi al login e problemi ad avviare X.

Ho già provato a ri-emergere baselayout.
mayday... mayday...

Credo che /etc/hosts dipenda da questa riga:
Code:

cloc3@gentoo-amd ~ $ cat /etc/host.conf |grep order
# recognized are order, trim, mdns, multi, nospoof, spoof, and reorder.
order hosts, bind

PS:
Code:

gentoo-amd livecd # equery b host.conf
[ Searching for file(s) host.conf in *... ]
sys-libs/glibc-2.3.5 (/etc/host.conf)

Anch'io ho hosts,bind. E in /etc/conf.d/domainname ho:
Code:
# /etc/conf.d/domainname
# $Header: /var/cvsroot/gentoo-src/rc-scripts/etc/conf.d/domainname,v 1.1.4.1 2005/02/19 02:13:53 vapier Exp $

# When setting up resolv.conf, what should take precedence?
# If you wish to always override DHCP/whatever, set this to 1.
OVERRIDE=1

# To have a proper FQDN, you need to setup /etc/hosts and /etc/resolv.conf
# properly (domain entry in /etc/resolv.conf, and FQDN in /etc/hosts).
#
DNSDOMAIN="cky.net"

# This only set what /bin/hostname returns.  If you need to setup NIS, meaning
# what /bin/domainname returns, please see:
#
#   http://www.linux-nis.org/nis-howto/HOWTO/
#
#NISDOMAIN=""

risolto; cruft aveva cancellato /etc/nsswitch.conf. Per fortuna avevo una copia di backup.

FIUUUUUUUU
