Hello Gents,
I have installed Gentoo for A64 with an ATI radeon Card (Please don't laught ).
Now i choose Enlightenment as WM. (Gnome and KDE are to big)
So now the WM starts finally but now i have to menu or icon like GNOME etc...
I have absolutely no idea where to start and what kind of documentation i have to read. I read some topic and some docs but the talks are not understable for me.
For exemple i checked this site http://gdesklets.gnomedesktop.org/ but ???????
So the only word i am able to use is : How to customize my enlightenment?
Do you know some nice tutarial like the Gentoo installation manual please? |

What version of Enlightenment are you using? If you are comfortable with using CVS I would suggest following this guide.
http://gentoo-wiki.com/HOWTO_emerge_e17
It comes with Engage which is the launcher and system tray, it also has some great stuff like iconbox which keeps track of all your minimized applications. There is great documentation at http://www.get-e.org
Please let me know if this helped.
I have a screenshot of my desktop that I will upload when I get home.
There are some very nice screenshots on http://www.get-e.org

if your using dr16 http://www.etherdoxproject.org/ has information on how to make icons and the basics of theming. If you download a dr16 theme from freshmeat you need to rename it from name.ext to name.etheme and place it in your .e16 (if using the enlightenment-16.9999 cvs build)/themes directory or if your using an unmasked build the .enlightenment/themes/ directory from your home directory then restart e from the left click menu. You may also want to emerge esound edox e16menuedit and e16keyedit, they will help allot with tooltips help screens and customizing the menus and keybindings. |
