At the moment i've here a quad screen setup: 3xTFT, 1xCRT. Two nVidia card: one AGP FX 5700 LE and a PCI FX 5200 dual sub-D and DVI output.
When i tried to enable nView xinerame doesn't work proper anymore, the support is just gone .
The nVidia readme has a section about 'stereo': ftp://download.nvidia.com/XFree86/Linux-x86/1.0-7664/README.txt . But this is only availeble for Quatro cards.
Top says that my X-server with this config uses about 100% load. It seems that xinerama is fully software-based, and with 4 screens it needs a lot of CPU-power. Here is my logfile.
Youw can i get some performance in this config? When i enable nView everythting goes a lot faster, but no xinename. My X11-server is a P4 2.4 Celeron ghz with 256 MB ram, and the X11-client a P4 2.8 Ghz with 512 MB ram. |
