I've been searching the forums for days and reading configs from across the web. I still cannot figure out how to start fvwm-crystal with a console on the desktop. I've seen screenshots of this working with aterm or the so-called quake console but I can't figure it out. Anyone know how to do this? _________________ Ya Basta!

I think this might be what you are talking about. It is a console that hides itself in the upper left corner of the screen.
Code: | #####
# Autohide console example: http://dev.gentoo.org/~taviso/screenshots/autohide_console.png
##################
DestroyFunc StartHiddenConsole
AddToFunc StartHiddenConsole
+ I Exec exec Eterm --trans -x -f cyan --shade=35 --buttonbar=0 --scrollbar=0 --geometry 144x8+0+0 --nam$
+ I Wait HiddenConsole
+ I Next (HiddenConsole) Resize $[vp.width]p 9
+ I Autohide HiddenConsole 0 0 N
|
You also need the line Code: | + I StartHiddenConsole | to your start function. _________________ "No amount of fear can stop the rise of free media, or free software." --Jonathan Schwartz, Sun Microsystems |

Press Alt+` (grave). It's called by "QuakeConsole" function, so you can use that to open it from the FvwmConsole or different keyboard binding. |
