Nuts. HTML is disabled in my signature. So closest I can get then is a link my webpage which could then serve it up. Oh well, not too horrible, but would make it difficult to see what's changed in the emerge info from time A to time B.

@ hlevyn » errm, both changes needed toolchain rebuild but better downgrade os-headers, then rebuild toolchain and in the end recompile OOo2. i somehow guess it is sourced from the headers. but sure i am wrong. :D

@ rel » well, sys-devel/binutils: 2.15.92.0.2-r10 is in common with hlevyn. i know, i know difficult to see :P well and gcc-3.4.4 but can it be that gcc is buggy. here it just works fine :roll:

I hope not. To downgrade the headers I need to drop to 2.6.8.1-r4. Do you forsee any issues with those headers and the gentoo-sources-2.6.11-r9?

Weeeee! Grabbed it from CVS and threw it into an overlay. Should be building momentarily. :)

oh, there is an interesting fix from 2.6.11 to 2.6.11-r1 ill check OOo code....

edit soltools/checkdll/checkdll.c
Code:
...
#include <errno.h>
#include <unistd.h>
...

then check http://gentoo-portage.com/sys-kernel/linux-headers/ChangeLog - changes from 2.6.11 to 2.6.11-r1 check the bugreports

may be these two includes interfere :) just a wild guess :D

@ hlevyn | you may try downgrading linux-headers and merge OOo2 again :)

@ rel » you may downgrade gcc to latest 3.4.3, rebuild your toolchain
Code:
#!/bin/bash

emerge -f linux-headers glibc binutils gcc || echo "fetching failed" || exit 1
emerge gcc linux-headers glibc binutils || echo "first run failed" || exit 1
emerge gcc linux-headers glibc binutils || echo "second run failed" || exit 1
emerge gcc linux-headers glibc binutils || echo "third run failed" || exit 1

and remerge OOo2

so we will know if it is gcc :)

edit you may have to edit the ebuild of openoffice to allow gcc-3.4.3 ;)

oke downgrading gcc + rebuilding toolchain.
I should mention that I have linux-headers 2.6.8.1-r2 installed,
so if I and hlevyn share the same bug it can't be those changes

@ rel » no idea how new your merge of linux-headers is but some patches got backported from 2.6.11(-r1) to 2.6.8.1-r2 on 24th of april, i think it was that date... there were more fixes in 2.6.11 and 2.6.11(-r1).

so, may be even 2.6.11 breaks now. I have a early 2.6.11 version :D

ok, building OOo2 with gcc4 and no ximian gcc4 forward declaration patches instead using fedora cvs ones seems to do the trick :) well, had one more fd error but that was too easy to fix :twisted:

edit too early

And this time it failed with the right binutils:
Code:

So, how would I go about getting an early version of the 2.6.11 headers? And has rel confirmed that it is the headers and not gcc causing this?

I copied libuno_sal.so.3 from its location to /usr/lib/ and then I obtaint:

I copied this too, and after that also:
Code:

libuno_cppuhelpergcc3.so.3
libstlport_gcc.so
servicemgr.uno.so
shlibloader.uno.so
simplereg.uno.so

After that, I obtain (always with the same command):
Code:

ERROR: create ServiceManager failed!
ERROR description: loading component library failed: file:///usr/lib/simplereg.uno.so

(I copied simplereg.uno.so in /usr/lib/ )

It seems that the 106 build is completely broken to me... isn't it?
