Hi,
I'm having problems shutting down after mounting a shfs network file system. This seems to be related to the post shfs unmount problem.
If I mount a shfs file system, then shutdown, the computer will hang. This is caused by the shutdown script shutting down net.wlan0 before netmount. That is, netmount hangs when trying to unmount a shfs after the network is gone. So, I'd like the shutdown script to shutdown netmount first, but being a n00b, I can't figure out how to do this.
For various reasons, I start net.wlan0 manually. I think this might be screwing up my shutdown order.
Any Ideas?

i have the same issue. the net.wlan0 goes down BEFORE it tries to unmount my nfs mount...duh
i wrote a script that unmounts the nfs drives, then shuts down the net.wlan0 and then the machine...its a round about way, but until i am 100% comfortable w/ messing w/ init scripts itll have to do. |

I'll probably end up doing the same thing.
I'm pretty afraid to mess with the init scripts too. Ideally i'd like that after I type "net.wlan0 start", it would start netmount automatically. Then it would shutdown in the reverse order. I have netmount in my default runlevel, and it seems to go up following net.lo. That seems sort of pointless.
But now i'm only complaining about a few keystrokes-- the hanging shutdown is more serious. |
