I had to use killall on xmms, becuase it wasnt responding. Now, even after a reboot, xmms doesnt show up when I run it. It doesnt segfault or anything, (unless I use CTRL-C on it, when running it from a terminal window) - it doesnt even spit out any errors - it just sits there running, but never paints the GUI. Any ideas? Thanks. |

Try rm -rf on the ~/.xmms directory, and uninstalling plugins that might be causing problems. I had some major problems with xmms at one point similar to this, due to a plugin I enabled. _________________ Adopt an unanswered post

Emerge xmmsctrl, with that you'll be able to "xmmsctrl main 1" and show the program if it's hidden. _________________ The programs are fine, it's me who's buggy. |

I've been having the same problem. Doing "rm -f ~/.xmms/xmms.m3u" fixed it for me. _________________ Ask Questions the Smart Way - by ESR |
