I have got dnsmasq working perfectly except for one small problem. I can seem to get dnsmasq to allocate a specific IP to a machine on the network whether it is described by a MAC address, /etc/hosts/ or just the id. dnsmasq just allocates it an IP from the allowed range.

Am I missing something here?

After some searching through posts I managed to find the solution.
