I thinking about doing a reinstall, this time making use of LVM2. I am going to create a FAT32 partition to share with Windows XP. If I make this a logical partition, will Windows be able to read it, or does it have to be a physical partition? _________________ "One of the major problems encountered in time travel is not that of accidentally becoming your own father or mother ... BTW: thats the first link in google with searching for LVM2+windows _________________ Nothing is secure / Security is always a trade-off with usability / Do not assume anything / Trust no-one, nothing / Paranoia is your friend / Think for yourself |

But this is also about ext2 on LVM, not FAT32 on LVM, should it matter.
Sorcerer'sApprentice, if I were you I'd just make a small physical partition for sharing. Stock win does not support LVM or any Linux fs and I'd rather not have experminetal fs code touch my HDD |

Thank you for your reply. Looks as though it's going to be a boring old physical partition.
PS: I had searched the web extensively (including Google) for an answer to this question, but could not find a one anywhere. _________________ "One of the major problems encountered in time travel is not that of accidentally becoming your own father or mother ...
